The HoloLens from Microsoft is mixed reality of the highest level. Microsoft HoloLens is the first self-contained holographic computer, enabling you to engage with your digital content and interact with holograms in the world around you. Davanti is currently testing the HoloLens with its wms and its applications in the warehouse. Together with partner Betabit, we are examining which applications of this wearable create the most value for larger warehouses with a lot of staff on the work floor.HoloLens and wms

While using the Microsoft HoloLens and wms, the user can put a warehouse on the table as a model, walk through it at its actual size and retrieve information. The advantages are great: create a quick overview and insight and view the warehouse remotely. This offers more control and can benefit:
–  The quality of delivery
–  Overall warehouse control
–  Food safety

The wearable also offers practical future applications such as: efficient and fast navigation, automatic product recognition, efficient warehouse design and layout. These innovations will save a lot of time and money in the workplace and will become indispensable to warehouse operations in the future.

One of the great applications of the HoloLens and wms is that it is possible to visualize items in the wearer’s field of vision as transmitted remotely by a second person. For example, someone standing in front of a pallet rack in the warehouse may be unable to locate a particular pallet. Via the glasses, a second person can indicate in the wearer’s field of vision where the pallet is located and then indicate in the virtual warehouse where the pallet should go. This makes the connection between people on the floor more direct and provides seamless visual support. The HoloLens opens up a world of possibilities, which is why good research into the best applications is a necessary first step.
